Stig It2ya, the exuberantly reckless drummer of Clockwork Neon, is renowned not just for his impeccable rhythm, but also his astonishing ability to turn percussion into pyrotechnics—often unintentionally. Armed with his elaborately engineered drum kit—an imposing apparatus of gears, steam pipes, and suspiciously explosive cymbals—Stig approaches every performance with an enthusiastic disregard for personal safety, usually resulting in on-stage sparks, minor fires, and cymbal crashes that literally crash. Sporting goggles permanently fogged by steam and a leather coat mysteriously singed at the edges, Stig reassures audiences that each smoky eruption is merely an “artistic flourish.” Offstage, he’s often found tinkering dangerously with self-invented steam-powered drumsticks, cheerfully insisting that losing eyebrows during rehearsals is simply “the price of musical greatness.”
